Trains & Buses Galore…

Group 5 headed to the Transit Museum for a tour to explore New York City’s transit system, both past and present. For many of us, it was our first time at this museum, but definitely not our last! Here’s a peek at the tour we received during our visit.

All Smiles in the A.M.

Thanks to the Summer Food Service Program, LACASA is able to offer breakfast during our early morning drop-off time between 8:00-9:00AM. It may be early, but at LACASA, our campers are still all smiles! Today we are headed to Astoria Sports Complex for the day. Photos to come!

Summer Literacy Fun

DID YOU KNOW…

Most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months. Low-income students also lose more than two months in reading achievement, despite the fact that their middle-class peers make slight gains (http://www.summerlearning.org/?page=know_the_facts)

Our 5 & 6 year old campers engage in ABC Action! as they learn and explore different action verbs to write and share. Learning doesn’t stop during the summer at LACASA Day Camp!
