1st Grade “My Happiest Moment” Project

LACASA youngsters were asked to draw and describe their happiest moments. As part of the “big buddies” program, the older 5th grade LACASA students helped the youngest members express their thoughts on paper.

Angelina:

Hello, my name is Angelina. I’m 6 years old. I am in the first grade. In 2009, I had many happy moments, but the most memorable was when I went to LACASA for the summer.

We went on trips to the pool and a mini golf course. I felt happy because we got to go swimming and we got to play mini golf in Queens. I like golfing because I like to hit the ball. They gave me a golf stick and a white ball. It was fun because I liked putting the balls in the hole. I made two balls in and won the game.

Arthur:

Hello, my name is Arthur. I’m 6 years old. I was born on May 13th, 2003. I am in the first grade. In 2009, I had many happy moments, but my most memorable moment was going to Florida with my family during the summer.

My mother, sister, and I took a plane to Florida. My mother took us on a weekend vacation because she did not have any time to spend with us during the summer. She has to work every day. My mother told my sister and I that we were going to go to Florida to have fun. I was so excited to spend time with my mother.
In Florida, we went shopping at different stores. We also went to the beach. The beach was so much fun. I enjoy playing with the water and building sand castles. Even though, my summer vacation trip was only two days, I had the best summer ever. I love my mother and I am so happy that I was able to spend two days with her.
